Lady Lakers Volleyball Club Board Meeting

Meeting Date: January 11, 2023 

Meeting Called to Order: 5:35 PM 

Board Members Present: Alisa Jacobsen, McCall Plourde, Samantha Husbands, Wendy Peterson, Cassie Brune, Justin Quo, Orpha Holen

Non-board Present: Mike Nuemiller

Meeting Agenda and Previous Meeting Minutes

  • Motion to approve the meeting agenda and previous minutes: Justin
  • Motion Second: Sam

Treasure Report 

  • January payments are being deposited.

Old Business

Tournaments

  • All 5 tournaments are confirmed. Alisa will upload rosters per tournament requirement dates.
  • Alisa will reach out to 11s and 12s coaches to see if there in interest in participating in Monticello on Saturday and Sunday. There would be no entry-fee, but would cost for additional hotel nights and coaches fees.

Coaching Requests

  • Shelby (17s) has conflict for April 23, Fargo tournament. Justin was asked if he was available. He will determine his availability and let Alisa know.
  • Karley (11s) has conflict for April 1, Alexandria tournament. She is also looking for help throughout the season. Alisa will reach out to Emily Tange as possible co-coach and report back. 

Roseau Scrimmages

  • Roseau has contacted club about scrimmages with 4th-6th graders (11s and 12s teams). Proposed dates are end of May. Alisa will let their coach know we are interested.
  • Further discussion tabled until additional communication received.

New Player Request

  • An email was received from a player/parent in Little Fork with request to join LLVC. 
  • Player would be on 16s. This team is at 7 players due to another player dropping after tryouts. 
  • $25 late fee would be enforced.
  • Further discussion regarding admittance of player from outside LLVC area.
  • Motion to approve player if Matti, coach of 16s, is accepting of the addition: Orpha
  • Motion Second: McCall

Clothing Order

  • Orpha has agreed to organize a clothing order again.
  • She will look into adding a warm-up jacket and a long sleeve t-shirt.
  • Motion to purchase each coach a shirt: Sam
  • Motion Second: Orpha
  • Motion: Passed 

Hotel Blocks

  • Wendy has agreed to find hotel blocks for the tournaments. 
  • She will report back to Alisa with information so it can be added to the website

New Business

  • Reminder to families that ref training must be completed by Jan 31.
  • Practices can begin the week of Feb 27.
  • No new business
